CLIENT PROFILE:
LANE FURNITURE
In October, 2001, Dux
D'Lux completed a concept re-design and complete site merger
for Lane Home Furnishings. The company was formed by the merging
of Action Industries and Lane Furniture Industries.

Over the past year and a half, Dux D'Lux has worked with Action
Industries, based in Tupelo, MS to maintain their product website.
The site maintenance involved updating the look of the site,
creating various home pages promoting products or promotions,
and maintaining accurate product catalog pages.
When Action, the largest manufacturer of
upholstered motion furniture decided to merge with its sister
company, Lane Furniture, which produces wood products including
dining room, bedroom, living room and children's furniture,
they wanted a completely new website. Since both companies already
had extensive websites, they needed a plan for combining the
two that would allow the customer to find information quickly
and easily. Dux D'Lux presented a plan that included a proposed
organization of information, an alternate approach to presenting
the company's varied products, a new concept "look"
for the site, and a set of site conventions that would provide
continuity between sections. Although the proposed site would
include several hundred pages, Dux D'Lux also offered a site
production schedule that allowed the merged site to be completed
and launched within a ten-week period.
The site was launched on October 4 with
very few hiccups, and a great many positive responses. Click
