In September, Debra Shafer was honored as one of Mississippi's 50 Business Leading Business Women for 1999. At a luncheon in Jackson, MS, Debra received the award recognizing women with significant decision-making authority in a business or nonprofit organization who have a proven record of outstanding leadership. The program is cosponsored by Bellsouth Mobility, Southwest Airlines, Mississippi Economic Council and the Mississippi Business Journal.

Debra is the owner (we prefer "Queen") of Dux D'Lux. She has built the company over its 21 year history into a strong, local business with international affiliations. She holds and American Advertising Federation Silver Medal Award, and has led the company to over 90 advertising and design awards. She remains the creative director and business strategist for Dux D'Lux.

By bridging the gap between marketing and the Screen Printing/Promotional Product business, Debra is able to develop thorough, well-rounded marketing schemes for a wide variety of clients. Her marketing programs range from unique image-building campaigns to industrial manufacturing "Safety Programs" and corporate wearable and logo product programs.

Debra has served on several planning committees for the Starkville Area Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Tupelo Community Development Foundation, Columbus/Lowndes Chamber of Commerce and the Tuscaloosa/West Alabama Chamber of Commerce.
